Wheres the mild air?

Upper air. Not here sorry anyway. My post confusing. Moving into SW England now and northwards.

still way below freezing at surface = potential for freezing rain for a time, particularly for west

Not stopped since 7am. Great snow quality. Maybe better than that in the Alps last week! Dry champagne powder reminds me of what I had in Jasper Canada about 10 years ago. A memorable event in progress here.

Totally underwhelming at the moment. Knew the writing was on the wall with "That White Space" on the forecast precipitation charts a day or so ago. Never mind...some lucky areas in Wales are seeing a great event unfold. My brothers village in Hampshire has been cut off since early evening....so, everywhere but the snow shield supremo known as Swansea.

The snowflakes have appeared to get slightly (very slightly lol) bigger now and whilst its very patch laying on the ground, the wall accessing my communal driveway has what looks like almost a 1ft drift built up by it! No one going in or out of my driveway then

We've also just had the police driving around the street in a 4x4, presuming checking how conditions are?

Been thinking about you today... x Hard 'bloomin' work feeding animals and you must have had a battle today with water?

I've been using a planter tray to give the birds water and I've emptied it (and knocked the ice out) 4 times today as it froze so the birds could have a drink!!!

I even saw a blackbird bathe in it this afternoon... He was a BRAVE boy... lol...

You deserve a warm fire :D  Mine's been lit all day! I've waited 20yrs to get a log burner and watch snow fall at the same time, while sitting next to it keeping cosy x

Is anyone else watching that programme on channel 5 and thinking that if the Canadians and all the other cold countries were watching this they'd b laughing their heads off at us. It's pathetic I feel embarrassed ??

I know some people have said this could be as good as 82 but sadly it will be no where near this.

it'll have to snow for 4 days, with only a few breaks, for it to be anywhere near 82. some places will match it though, like Pontypridd, cos there's a poster here saying he's getting close to 50 cms. if we ALL get close to that, it'll be 82 like. if not, still epic.

Pembrokeshire getting hammered right now!! Drifting snow right on the coast. Potential for that red bit on radar to come into south east Wales and Cardiff soon.

Don't. The point is that Britain isn't Canada, Finland or Hokkaido, we're a fairly small and crowded island whose infrastructure isn't designed for this weather. And I feel that even somebody from Montreal or Helsinki would find the blizzard currently raging outside severe.

Baldy i think he's a bit wayward with the truth because im not far from ponty and it's no where near that.
