Interesting to know if anyone posts in here from Newport bit further north across from the Severn. Shower has rapidly expanded from N Bristol as it crossed the Severn.

My daughter in Newport and she said it' really started to come down atm

Thanks for that IceQueen, was showing as light precip, but then pepped up, was intrigued if it actually had turned heavier in reality. Imagine its the front edging into Costal Sw England, pushing it up and creating bit of convection ahead.

Still a few flakes in the wind here as it's been all morning, very on and off though. Temp is -3.6 C

In summary - sodding cold, grey, windy and generally uninspiring.

I am beginning to feel more excited again as my met office have upgraded me slightly and also Ian Ferguson weather man from Bristol said that more people are in for severe snow, including possibly Bristol. I am sort of in between the two for weather, so fingers crossed, but looking very good at the moment.

I did say I would eat my bobble hat if the crying circle of doom aka dry patch remained dry .

I just cannot see how it can be so vastly different given a full on frontal storm is approaching .

Yes big variances region to region but this crying circle of doom area has been the ONLY CONSISTENTLY and very specifically modelled thing during this cold snap .

However unlikely , we shouldn’t completely dismiss model output - but if ever I was to throw a chart into the bin , it would be this stupid crying circle of doom chart .

beans boiled in lager ?

I think you will be hungry later .

Andy !.... send Eira one of those steaks down the graigerhorn ...

It’s snowing like a good ‘un ...................... in my conservatory ?

It must be hitting a sweet spot and so getting in.

If I hadn’t sent my husband to the garage to bring in more beer supplies (the door was starting to be covered by drift), he wouldn’t have gone in there to keep the beer cold and so we wouldn’t have spotted it.

Beer = good

I'm putting beers in the fridge to warm them up to 5 degrees! :drunk-emoji:

Starting to wonder how accurate the radar is in situations like this it has shown nothing over me for the last hour yet has been moderately snowing the whole time. Andy you are only up the road from me and I guess seeing the same?

All the snow is blowing onto the roads, fields are getting greener blizzards once again this morning as the strong to gales force/E/NE wind picked up.

Light snow falling just enough to make it drift off the roof perfect.
