I am nights tonight and tomorrow night, 6pm till 9am on both. Some of my colleagues live in heads of valleys area. So travelling from Cardiff home Friday morning may be very interesting.thats if others get in to take over from us.

Wonder if Porthcawl will get any snow that sticks   tomorrow because we had a few snow showers yesterday but the snowflakes melted as soon as they hit the ground, although it was unusual to see while walking along the seafront during those showers.

the beaches will get hit hard as well as inland - Siberian uppers and general temps

Any ideas what time tommorow snow will start? I'm pretty sure lots of Wales will get an awful lot of snow tommorow and overnight into Friday. But I have an important meeting at 10am for only an hour in Swansea but want to make sure I get home. Take me about 45 mins so should arrive home just before 12. Am I correct the snow is later than this?

Cheers.

It's colder thn forecast too. We were due to get up to 1c between 12 and 1 today, and 0c between 9 and 12, it's still -1.2.

Moving up the "likely" matrix - could be a red warning by later tonight/early tomorrow morning!

Ye. The impact is already on the max to its just the likelihood. If that firms up then its a red

I see red warnings issued for Scotland. Still think unlikely to see red here tomorrow. However these get issued on the day itself so won’t see any today.

Euro 4 still good

Keep an eye on the weather Thurs Jayne, if you're working your drive home might be longer than normal!

I'm hoping for some snow and a snow day on Friday!

Surprised the west still amber! According to those 'high res' models we can expect little to nothing here.  Maybe the snow will fall in the east but then the wind will blow it over to us. :D

What do you think Port Talbot will get? Looks like that way and Swansea may only get a little bit :sorry:

There's an explanation for that here:

 30-40 min drive east and it's a snow fest!

I can't believe it, after all the hype and the perfect set up for a dumping the high res models are keep the snow shield over Swans and Carms

Interesting comment from Ian Fergusson re. possible snow depths

image.png

Down comes the snow in North #Somerset... settling instantly as expected. Liquid to snow ratio typically 10:1 but with this type of snow, prob closer to 15:1. Model snow amounts can thus be underplayed (for once!) in this type of set-up.

Thanks for that, interesting and disappointing at the same time.  We are just in the wrong location for snow then it seems.  Oh well,  good luck everyone to the east I will rely on your photos/vids to see any meaningful snow.
