Is there no heavy snow now pyro?

Yes but later in the day / Evening

How much / how heavy is still not guaranteed but looks like most of morning it will be mainly light / moderate  and still an issue as blowing about.

That was just to say - may be okay in Morning to get back, but looks likely a problem the later they leave it.

I am 90% sure of Snow on Thursday - just depends where that low end up on where largest totals will be and how long it lasts.

I hope its about right now, but thats just hope

Looks quite disappointing the icon latest run, patchy ppn for most?

18z suggests thurs/fri could be a non-event!!

Hi Jen- I'm in Pembroke by day, where we had about an hour-and-a-half of steadyish, light snow: lovely, and the second time this year!

Deffo be something Thurs/Fri... just how much? I'm hoping for a classic!

Oooo You had as much fun as did today... lol...

I think we may get our classic Ben!... although I refuse to get excited until tomorrow... lol...

If you're working Thursday I dare say you'll be keeping a close eye on the afternoon's weather for getting home... It seems most of these snow showers this week are coming in earlier than forecast! x

Another solid run from GFS 18z re. Thurs/Fri... suggests 24hrs snowfall for SW Wales (it won’t be, but it gives a general idea)... the sleet/rain line appears to be progged progressively further to the S on recent runs suggesting less marginal conditions along the S coast... a starting as snow and staying as snow event likely now?

The Preselis are going to get an absolute battering.

As with most events i don't think we will know for sure until the day comes and radar watching will resume. I would imagine moisture will be picked up from the sea too with this. Be interesting to see where the sweet spot will be...Sw england or S wales

Whats with the narrow less cold uppers from Swansea up to the north with colder uppers to the west and east, seeing it repeated on GFS all the time no matter where the low is on the runs....anyway GFS looking better to me as cold and snow lasts into Saturday

The snow is coming to Wales folks, looks like we're all going to get some, and some on here could get buried!  Before that, though, the temperatures are plummeting here - it's gone from -3.0C to -3.6C in the last half an hour so I reckon we could get down to -5.0C or lower tonight.  That's bitter cold (although they've got -20.0C in St Petersburg so I'm not complaining!).  If you've got any exposed pipes or tanks in the loft it's a good idea to leave the hatch open tonight so some heat from the house keeps the pipes from freezing.

We should see who can record the lowest temperature over the next two days - bound to be some records broken I reckon.  :cold::cold::cold:

Ooo I want to say HE is a HANDSOME Boy x

He? looks so well looked after.

My garden birds had Double rations todays... And scoffed the lot... lol... and a Pied wagtail has taken up residence since the cold weather started... It stuffs it's face, sits in the warm sunshine for an hour or so... and then stuffs it's face again before flying off for the evening. Oh and can someone please relay to the pair of Magpies building a nest for the past week high up in the blackthorn to tone it down a bit, I'd be grateful... lol...

If you thought it was cold today tomorrow will be colder lovely x More wind! You need to be well wrapped up against the windchill. I would seriously love to visit your gorgeous spot once this 'inclement' weather is over?

As I've said I refuse to get excited until tomorrow... lol... x

Some models don't bring any milder air in till at least sunday! With the risk of further snow/showers over the weekend..

HIRLAM, Arpege still solid for Thurs/Fri. Heavy snow Thursday, turning slightly milder further west in Wales but cold air quickly comes back south so window very brief and hours of snow before that happens. Arpege and HIRLAM particularly snowy. GFS also good. Euro4 now....

WISH I COULD BANK THAT ARPEGE RUN! Look at the snow depths

GFS keeps cold until next week too. Be interesting to see if this trend gathers pace. Snow even on Sunday in wales on GFS tonight.

I wouldn't worry about snowfall totals/PPN amounts yet anyway. Theres still going to be a lot of ups and downs in the next 48 hours. Models all show PPN pushing up from the S. But I'm guessing they are still struggling with the very cold setup. Something we haven't seen in years.
