Siberian temps are too severe for any of this to be any less than full on snow at all altitudes - BELIEVE ME

If you are talking about between now and Thursday agree, Thursday / Friday will start as snow then its as case of watch the track of the low.

Even if that low comes too far North? Do you think it will turn to rain, or sleet, after an initial heavy snow fall? I'm hoping so bad that we finally get a decent covering and it lasts a few days. There's nothing more traumatic than raining arriving and washing it all away.

Leaving Friday aside for now as still much to be decided by the models on that one.

What are the thoughts for any snow between now and then? Meto have warnings out for tomorow what are peoples thoughts on the liklehood of us seeing anything?

We will just have to wait and see for the end of the week. A lot will change before then in regards to the low dealing with this very cold setup. We have seen what Mother Nature has done in the past to this country and some of these very heavy snow events were marginal and on the line as they say ! Keep positive folks

The gfs 06z has taken steps towards the UKMO 0z this morning sending more energy east and a secondary low along channel. Looking at dew points some parts of SE wales look to have pretty much a 3 day snow event.

Knife edge stuff but these situations often bring the most severe conditions.

A long way to go before then so emphasis may shift north or even south (my personal opinion is south)

If you look at the precip charts on the models for today (right now) and compare to real life radar, you can see how they underplay precipitation in this kind of scenario. Fun few days coming up!

Watching the radar and wondering if those snow showers hitting the bristol area can make it across the waters to us. They only look light, but that will do for starters.

Thinking the same Clair. The Bristol Channel might even pep them up slightly. Let’s see

It feels really strange to be looking to our east for the precipitation, definitely not used to this weather set up.

Clouds really thickened up here, was bright and clear just an hour ago. I haven't seen anything falling from the sky yet, won't be long though according to the radar.

Well the met office graphics show Tuesdays front to hit just northern parts of Wales yet the bbc graphics are showing it hitting mid and South Wales so if this system isn’t nailed on then fridays is going to be wrong aswell because this system interacts with the Atlantic system. Very dynamic and changing all the time. Who’d be a forecaster lol.

yeah thats why in south wales not getting excited about tomorrow - looks central/north for the front on all models I have seen to date

would not take much for that to change though, the wind is more ESE Wednesday so do not expect anything from that
