Already had 2 light snow showers here in Swansea, as always showers will be hit and miss.

The flow is current WNW as shown here on the Euro 4:

It should start to veer to a NW/NNW flow by midnight:

Better chance of increased intensity of showers then.

Looks like slighter milder air creeping in out west, showers now sleet all of a sudden.

Still clear skies here, looks like that shower lost too much of its intensity.

Would seem then that i was just West enough

Seems that warmer air around the channel is messing this up for us.

Where as the air is moist crossing the Irish sea but relatively warmed. As its crossing the Hills its cooling again and so unable to hold its moisture. Hense snowing.

As it approaches the coast here maybe the slightly warmer air is that tipping point where its able to hold moisture in the air, where as it crosses the Channel it would likely beef up again over Bristol.

Change of wind direction may help

Would appear I've just had snow in Bassaleg as the road's had a dusting. I've failed in my lamp post duties!  All stopped now mind. Newport and Cardiff- home of the five minute flurries! What's for certain is whatever falls is sticking straight away- the ice pellets we had earlier are still on the out house roof, meaning the first night of 'snow' cover since Jan 2013, aha!

Had a light flurry here a little while ago. No rain at all, just pretty snow flakes. No covering left, just a few flakes on the bins and car rooftops. Hopeful for later.

Let's pray for another 2010, if a streamer sets up who knows what could happen. I'm just worried about all the comments about sleet.
