We had a rain night too, temps just increased too much.

However, cold air has wrapped around the low pressure system and we've got extremely heavy snow again that's turning everything white!

Surprised at the snow reports this late morning, it was all meant to be rain by now, maybe the heaviness of the precipitation is leading to evaporative cooling and temps on the higher hills just about good enough for snow.

Surprise snow is always the best of course.

I thought it needed to be calm for evaporative cooling? I'm probably wrong

Not seeing much myself Sperrin. Looking ahead towards next weekend looks more interesting as we look to be South of the Polar jet, so the chance of snow then, however it will be marginal as ever.

I don't see any chance of laying snow to sea level in the next 12 to 14 days.

Guess what? It rained last night! :-)

MetE going yellow alert for snow tonight mentioning Dublin. I really don't see it to be honest, most likely rain, maybe Dublin mountains might get some.

So the Dublin snow shield I so often go on about, may be breached tonight... But look at this radar shot from MetE. See that green circle in the north side of Dublin? My house is right in the middle of that!!! I kid you not. You lot think I'm paranoid!!! :-)
