Having little luck with the showers here, most are too brief to lift any melt worries however the temperatures been low enough to keep the snow that came locked in place especially on grass.

Work sent us home early, hard to beat the Ott health and safety mindset!

Took a detour home and drove three mile out of Omagh up Mullagharan mountain. It went full on blizzard mode up there, got some great video that I'll post later. Took these shots will I was there.

GFS looks a little further North this run. Still much uncertainty IMO. Hopefully comes further north

Wee showers on and off here all day. Currently on. Nice to see and it's providing a top up. The parts that thawed are freezing over again so that'll be good craic for people driving or in footpaths later.

12z out

GfS brings slider further north and looks better for snow but doesn't hang around as long before drifting south.

Arpege has the slider hanging around for longer but only showing as snow for the west of Ulster. Midlands north should do good too.

Unfortunately Dublin gets nothing white!

Never heard of Mullagharan. I'm familiar with Mullaghcarn which is a few miles from Omagh and is the most southerly peak in the Sperrins. The northern Sperrins have a couple of separate peaks called 'Mullaghclogher' and 'Mullaghclogha'. Is Mullagharan definitely a separate hill from Mullaghcarn?

You are right Sawel, I've made that mistake before. Around Omagh we'd pronounce it mullagh-har-an. Guilty of my p2 kids mistake of spelling phonetically!

Anyway, more 12z updates. Euro4 and 48hr fax charts looking better for us in the north on Sunday.

@booferking Where do you reckon the northern extent of snow will be on Sunday

My guess is along the lines of the Euro4 chart below, there's been a slight shift north every run since this morning's runs plus the metoffice seem to be backing it with something similar in there forecast.

But it is still a nowcast event at best.:)
