Looking like the warnings from the Meto have upgraded after their apparent downgrade this morning, more areas included on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-0.87&lat=54.26&fcTime=1484179200&regionName=ni

Never worry, Euro 4 6z just out, 48 hours time looks pretty good for most of us up North!

And Hi Res saves the day.

The 6z GFS was excellent. I am hoping that any snowfall sticks around during next week as the winds turn Easterly, if a South Easterly sets up then that can be excellent for Eastern coastal areas throughout the Island

I am really looking forward to some snow but have to admit that am not really as confident today due to local and national forecasts. Tomorrow looks to be the day for heavy showers when before it was Thursday but Thursday looks a quieter day now.

Liking that they've included Monaghan in their warning, shows us that showers should penetrate well inland.

Sadly downgrades from the updated warnings for Thursday. Accumulations up to 2cm down from 2-5cm yesterday. 5-10cm above 200m down from 20cm. It is what it is

Met office have since issued a new warning for Friday with 2-4cm for low levels. The FC earlier mentioned showers maybe more of a Wintry mix on Friday so slightly confusing.

Yes. Lots of conflicting messages, snow on friday or no snow. Automatic BBC forecast shows no snow for Friday however on the BBC video forecast she said of a wintry mix

Irish Met

Early to middle of next week: Milder at least for a time with a little rain but also a lot of dry weather. Risk of cold Siberian air encroaching from the East later.

Hope it can cover the whole island :cold:

Hey folks! Looking good for much of Ireland over the next few days. I finally move from south Tipp and it looks like the best snow potential there for years!

Enjoy!
