JUst watched the BBC weather - seems to show showers around 9-10pm. Then nothing all night. The frontal snow expected to move down the east coast only. Another change!

If that happens i offically give up you cant make our luck up..

Plenty of showers forming now, just shows what we have been missing out on all day with thet annoying LP to the south. Question now is will they fall as snow when they get inland ........

Out to the west looks to me convection clouds are forming over the sea. Fingers crossed.

Although the GFS has backed it a bit further West but its just a nowcasting situation now, still suspect it will be an East coast event however some could get some early morning surprises.

See what develops in the Irish sea in the coming hours and see where we go from there, the front has been a right old spoiler today as conditions otherwise would of been perfect for convective weather to kick off in the Irish sea.

Still think Saturday morning could provide a few surprises also especially in the Merseyside/Cheshire area with GFS indicating an increased amount of PPN at least for a time.

Had a few wet wintry showers while out at work today, nothing that stuck for too long.  Agreed shame about that frontal system from the south mixing out the potential for something more decent.  Still a chance maybe through the night, but not holding out too much hope.

Shows you howl  localised the precipitation has been

Parlick and Fair Snape fells toward the Trough of Bowland are bare whereas Pendle Hill has a right good covering

Sky news reporting on weather to come down south. Apparently heathrow have diverted flights already and some parts of essex have been evacuated ahead of weTher. We still showing for snow.  Do they know something we dont and is weather going to be a lot worse than we think?
