This has to be the most annoying position when it comes to snow, usually im too west for any snow so don't really get to excited but now I just want it. Might go to a mothercare and tip every pram over.

Metoffice have updated their warnings to include further east areas, yet then put out this after?

Good afternoon.  Been lurking as i always do at this time of year nice to see the usual suspects here.

I have a question.  With the ground being so wet from the rain, will any snow stick and not just melt away?

    Regards

Bah they're just as bad as we are when it comes to snow forecasts.

It's also interesting to note that by 1-2pm originally, the sun should have been coming out across most of the NW of england, but this hasn't happened yet. Showery rain/sleet has still been moving in. It should clear soon though.

EDIT - as I speak, another heavy bout of rain but there are definite bits of snow in it, plus the wind has finally started picking up.

No mention of the forecast 60+mph winds for overnight, especially for the tops of the Peaks which would cause significant drifting whilst mixed in with the forecast snowfall.

Hey HC, was wondering when you'd make an appearance! It's 3.7C here, steady. A whole degree colder!
