4.7c cloudy and dry here. BBC local weather graphics just show rain for here through the day and night, Eno says temp not rising above 4 or 5c all day, to me that's just average winter weather. Maybe I expect to much of an extreme

At least the longer term outlook is looking good, we could could end up with a much better cold spell down the line especially if that high backs far enough west and starts moving toward Greenland.

And back to sleet, should all be snow up the road ..

Same thing happened to me this morning, I got snow in a heavy shower then it fizzled out and I've had sleet/rain since. It's like a tease...

Woke up and it's still sleety rain here,

1.4°C, must be a decent covering up on the hills though.

Once again worth mentioning that the cold article air won't kick in until mid afternoon.

That's when the PPN will turn to snow not at all surprised of all the rain reports.

Think this thread will be busy with snow reports 5pm onwards.

From your area at least east of the M6 north of manchester when the cold air arrives the rain stops.

GFS showings showers for the next two days around the cheshire area.

Yep this event hasn't even kicked off yet. Still looks good to me, a bit marginal at times but not bad at all.

GFS about as much use as an ashtray on a motor bike and those PPN charts

Are absolutely atrocious, personally only follow the METO in these situations

METO have me dry tomorrow after the wintry mix clears in the early hours,

Which sounds spot on as the flow switches to a Northerly.

Looking at radar images looks like the colder air is slowly pushing in across the Irish Sea
