Can't wait for this zonal spell. Give me some wind and rain; can't believe I'm saying that. At least we then get the chance of polar maritime stuff like 18th Nov. I hate this nothingness.

So mild has it been recently that the foliage of young plants of Sycamore, Ash and Alder are already growing back

There either hadn't gone dormant at all or they were growing back already with maturing terminal buds. unreal in December

Just hints folks of winter getting going turn of the year. That would be perfect tbh, less marginal in Jan (rolls eyes). A big fat polar low sweeping down from the north to bring the new year in will do, not much to ask now is it ... :D:cold:

The weather looked quite promising this morning with some sunshine once the mist had cleared but it's turned decidedly grotty again now with the tops again shrouded in low cloud.

Fog has lifted somewhat as higher cloud begins to move overhead, still somewhat bemused by the BBC's weather forecast at 11am mentioning that the North was expecting to see 'blue uninterrupted skies' through the afternoon. Manchester one of the airports being affected by the fog and diversions currently, nightmare in the south with Heathrow and Gatwick expecting further delays and/or cancellations.

Yes it hasn't been one of the forecasters better days unless of course it's better further north again.

hopefully Sunday will be better.
