Well surface temperatures at precipitation arrival time may be around 0-2 degrees. Dewpoints will be the same.. but where the temperatures hover around 0C there will be ice pellets.Cold rain more than likely but it really is on a knife edge... nothing can be dismissed at this stage. it's not so much a warm inversion aloft as much as there a shallow temperature gradient, this not allowing the depth for good snow production in the atmosphere... that said.. who knows .. we've seen snow in similar situations before and been taken surprise by it.

You never know. It was blooming cold walking back to the car from the match before. Snow in November around here :shok:. Would be nice!

Some interesting data here. The wind is backing now but not off-shore yet. Temperature is lower than forecast, already down to 4.2°C. Wetbulb is 3.1°C, DP 0.7°C. Interesting.

The radar as far south as Hereford has a sleety mix to it!

I will be surprised if it is even marginal. Latest reading for Manchester Airport is 3c with dew point 2c.

dewpoint is doing well, but I suspect it will rise when the cloud rolls in.

Interestingly the stormy conditions down south maybe be causing a little concern.

I'd be amazed if it got as far as me but tbh, I'd be happy with a dry day.

When comparing bbc maps to actual radar, the precipitation is about 3-6 hours ahead of the forecast position, depending on location. Why on earth don't they update the maps?

AROME says no to snow on lower ground tomorrow. No model is infallible but I like this one as it's got it pretty much bang on for the last few times.

Looks like an upgrade to the snow compared to what I posted earlier as seen above, but still looks like being a high ground event above 200m.

Pretty sure that if we can get the precipitation then there will be some surprises for some, not IMBY necessarily but for some.
