Northerly, Easterly whatever the wind direction we see either nothing or rain these days. It's been always on the cool side here in st Helens all winter but just absolutely zero snow at all.

Never ever trust anything you see about the weather in any paper, especially the express; even the Echo. .

Dewpoints are below 0 so nothing marginal about anything that falls from now on.

Very light snow here also after a wait of two years and 10 days. Ok happy now spring can come now lol.

True Chris

however I don't think a bit of blowing dandruff is going to satisfy to be honest Saturday looks a bit better especially further east in the region. After all the Telecommunications and strat information it looked really good a few months back.Really does feel that we won the lottery but lost the ticket.

Meto going for basically modest accumulations east of the region later.

We' ll see.

Feels cold now@ 209m asl.

Edit now saying dusting to low levels east of the region.showers look very light at the mo but with with temps sub zero after tea anything that falls should stick..

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Humber streamer forming this evening. Not heavy snow showers but enough for a dusting almost anywhere.

The light snow showers that affected us earlier would have resulted in a dusting if they were in the overnight period. They were enough to dampen the roads here.

Again the lightest of snow in Dove Holes this afternoon probably not even worth mentioning about to be honest. More noticeable is the temperature which is barely above freezing for all day and under all this cloud & wind makes it feel raw for any length of time outside.

Level one alert issued at Manchester airport.

1-2 cm of snow is expected to effect the airfield between 22.00 and 07.00

Got the flurries of snizzle and dandruff today like most others.  Surely we'll be on the right side of marginal on Saturday should the rain/sleet/snow make it over the Pennines from the east?  Felt perishingly cold today outdoors in the raw easterly wind.  You'd think anything substantial or heavy would most likely be the white fluffy stuff.

a bit of snow on the cars when I left home this morning and a few flakes falling when I got home but it looks like zilch in between.

forecast is promising for a bit of snow for favourable spots over the coming days but we'll probably be measuring depth in single digit millimetres for all but the luckiest.

still it's better than the mild murky drizzly crap that seems to have been the norm so far this winter.
