The past few days I've been out in my shorts and t-shirt all day and even into the night. Obviously since it turned colder and wetter, the shorts have been put back in the drawer. But hopefully a taste of what's to come! Not jealous of the snow in New York at all, sick of cool, wet, damp crap. I want summer now.

Another winter season seems to have gone by with very little snowfall.

No surprise there, I know less so for this region, but in the south, winters are getting milder and less snowy, everyone knows it! started around 99-00! I'm certain though even places like Buxton get less snow now than they used to,

As I have said a number of times to you, it started before 1999-00!!!

Day three of incessant drizzle ,heavy rain rain , wind ,it's like being waterborded by the Atlantic I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad

Yep don't even need to bother opening the curtains and looking out anymore.

just listen to the noise on the conservatory roof and see the water on the floor and it confirms any lingering doubts that this crap may have sodded off to annoy someone else.

Im just to the South of this rain but it's very windy

Wish I was, but as usual I'm right in the middle of it.

hopefully it will dry up later although no doubt just in time to ruin any thoughts of doing anything outdoors.

At least it's much milder than forecast here, 13.4°C currently.

Hooray the sun is out.. might just be for a minute but good to see after what has been an abysmal 3-4 days of wet weather, indeed preety much incessant rain non-stop since Thursday afternoon. River levels are heavily swollen, and there is localised flooding. Was out on the fells this morning and rivers of water cascading off them - all reminding me of winter 15/16, thankfully we have been spared the synoptics of the last 2-3 days this winter just gone. A conveyor belt of weather fronts aligned nicely for Cumbria pumped in by mild maritime tropical air. Alas the worst looks like it is over, and the outlook is very different, cold with snow for the high ground again and some frosty nights and hopefully some sunshine to boot.

Just one change to the latest text forecast outlook and that is the addition of the word hill before the word snow. Lol rather just have some sun.

The sun won't come out here, at least not till after it's gone down...we are further east and the rain and heavy constant drizzle is pepping up in the foothills of the western pennine slopes.

The BBC weather website has heavy rain for most of tomorrow, but I thought our region was placed between the front affecting places further south and heavy showers up north.  Earlier the TV forecast had us in a nice window between the two.  Trust we'll get the rain as per usual.

OMG.............after almost three days of continuous rain, the sun has decided to put in an appearance, welcome yes but as usual too late to salvage something from another dire weekend.
