Its snowing!! How?

I suspect evaporative cooling took place. Rain turned very heavy here then suddenly there were huge snowflakes. Snowed since then.

Proper snow falling here, despite the RADAR saying it's only sleet. Not sticking to any surfaces though but a contrast to 20hr ago when it was blue skies and sultry-warm March sunshine.

This time yesterday I was chilling in low 20's uninterrupted southern Spain sunshine... No surprise to find that north west blighty has turned out the typical weather welcome mat.  Cold, wet & stay in-doors.  I've gone from Ice cold beer, to hot mug of tea.  Naturally the wind has a slight easterly influence just to keep the rain going for longer here.  The hills not killing it like it would with snow, just feeding it to sustain the misery.

I suffered the same indignation last week :sorry:

Saw snow this morning between Wrexham and Llangollen, by the time I got out of the car it had turned back to rain. Actually messed up my day a little bit as the Llangollen railway gala timetable was delayed due to snow on the line near Carrog. .

You're right. I'm giving up.

Roll on thunder storms and heat waves.

Just checking in one last time to say that's it for me, I've given up searching for snow this winter! It's been a long, tiring and fruitless chase (for a few others too).

Hope you all have a good summer, let's hope we actually get one!

See you all around November no doubt, by then it'll be nearly 5 years without more than 1cm of snow past an hour!!!

Enjoy any sun and warmth...

:good::hi:

 I gave up ages ago, but I will still be around chasing convective action and heatwaves, but probably more often in the convective thread as the regionals wind down.
