After my post earlier last night of heavy snow, it quickly turned back to sleet & then rain.

Some from up on the Peaks this morning, several inches above 1300ft. Snow levels were very variable though and fog an issue in parts.

Heavy rain for the last couple of hours just as was forecast.

just a shame that when snow is forecast which it occasionally is, we get heavy rain instead.

Anyway role on summer........light nights, long walks, cold beer sat in the sun outside pubs.....I've had enough of this crap now.

Yes. I'm giving up too. This Winter is too boring for my liking. Theres no snow and only one or two storms have hit us. Hopefully this Summer will be hot. If that does not happen I'll be hoping for a White Christmas!! If that doesn't happen I'll hoping for a hot Summer so on....

I'm still waiting. If it comes it comes!!

Unless that is the chart for 9pm tonight there's still plenty of time for a complete reversal to mild south westerlies and even 9pm gives enough for a downgrade to sleet.

Dry start but given recent days I'd imagine this is as good as it gets and its downhill from here.

It feels very pleasant in the sun today. It certainly feels like spring has sprung.

UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Mar 2017 to Saturday 18 Mar 2017:

An unsettled theme looks likely until the middle of March. Bands of rain will cross the UK with more showery and bright interludes probable in between. The heaviest rain is expected in western and north-western areas with wintry showers likely over higher ground. The unsettled weather could also bring windy spells with gales in exposed places. Temperatures are thought to be around average; perhaps milder in the southeast, but all areas could get colder as we go through the period with more of a northerly influence. This period could bring snow for a time even to lower levels in the north; with the best of the dry weather further southwest where it could feel much more settled. Overnight frosts could also feature nationwide through the middle of March.

Come on! One last go!
