Sleet/Snow reserved just for the highest of the peaks in the NW today with the SWly component in the wind adding that extra bit of 'c to the temp. Early start for me at 5am watching the RADAR and Sferics, but aside from yesterday's rumble near Oldham the lightning drought continues for the NW.

The heavy stuff over SW Scotland was meant to hit Cumbria.

Wait and see me location dodge all of the heavy wintry (thundery?) showers tomorrow, i'd put my savings on it.

If they accepted bets like this I would be a very rich man

Was driving around Stockport last half hour car reading 6c, temp dropped down to 3c so I drove up the local hill (Werneth low) just short of 300m. Was sleeting up there. Now home just rain with the odd bit of sleet.

I am curious to see if this band to the west of me which is giving locally snow, will manage to give something wintry here.  Earlier showers were just rain here.

Is this gunna be like Boxing Day a few years ago where lower ground to the west got snow and here at 150m we just got sleet because of the air direction?
