here too, surprised at your location 300m asl, you are  probably too far west for snow though

We do ok purely based on altitude and can do very well from frontal snow if anyone can still remember that extremely rare weather phenomena but on the whole this winter has been pants.

that said though, there was a slight covering on the cars first thing yesterday.

Not rained here since before dawn, serious drought conditions starting to develop with the conservatory floor now bone dry.

Lol, rain started here , a lot of crappy weather over Ireland plus squall line

Looking at the radar the system seems to be keeping further west and for the moment at least, missing most of the northwest region.

that said though the central fells in Cumbria look like they are getting some very heavy rain at the moment.

Weather looks to be going downhill out to the west and no doubt will spread eastwards in the next few hours.  I'm off to sunnier climes tomorrow for a week, if I miss a surprise north west snow event then I'll doff my cap to you, but somehow I think I'll just be missing blustery, icy cold rain falling in frequent spells with limited sunshine.  When I return I expect it will be a continuation on a theme of wetness.  Spring is nowhere near us yet looking at the reliable timeframe.

I'm hopeful that tomorrow might bring the first lightning strikes of this year into the NW, with snow, hail, lightning, all forecast by the BBC from 5am until midday.

Squall-line just developing overhead here with rain lashing the window and a few strong gusts rattling the roof. Looking at the current RADAR it seems this evening is looking lively for similar squalls passing through, maybe one or two rogue lightning strikes somewhere.

Other than a bit of light rain early afternoon, it's been mainly dry here through daylight hours but a couple of showers have been rattling the Windows over the last 20 minutes or so.

Think I heard thunder as well but can't be sure.

Quite probably wettest weekend of the winter. We've had few back to back washout days this season thankfully. Looking ahead, quite a bit of snow for the fells in the days ahead, and perhaps a wintry sprinkle on lower ground tomorrow.

They've taken thunder out of the text forecast, that was all I was interested in. Why did they have to do that!
