If we were on the northern flank of the low, we probably would have seen some snow, nothing goes right for this region!!

Pretty sure snow will only be an event in the north of the region, and right on the tops. Our issue will be wind, then rain more likely.

Hardly a flake of snow all winter but we might not have a roof tomorrow afternoon.

How does this storm compare to the one 2 years ago? In terms of wind.

i love a good storm but the hype of doris has me nervous! When would a red warning be issued if there was one to be issued?

@Weather-history Do you reckon this event might compare to Jan 2007 Kev? know doubt you will remember that one well http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6272193.stm

I wrote an article on that last month

Predicted severest winds look more compact than that one.

Considering auntie Doris is due a brief visit to our part of the world tomorrow it's pretty quiet in here.

maybe the almost zero chance of snow isn't helping.

I'll be working outdoors tomorrow, so it should be fun.  It remains to be seen if the weather is as serious as the warnings are forecasting.  Nothing wintry here, although as the low zips through the colder air will be introduced but only the highest hills will probably get the icy rain/sleet.

Sobering to think in the next 6 hours the strongest of the gales will be powering through the Irish Sea and into N.Wales, Cheshire, and Merseyside.

I'm going to get out to coincide with the arrival of the sting jet.

Think I'll just sit in the garden. At least I can run inside if it gets really bad.
