i might be out on my own here, but I'd rather have the harsh frost they've had down south then abit of floating dandruff in the air. Still beggars can't be choosers I suppose

Specks of dust (sorry snow) falling here, and now we have conditions seemingly ripe for snow, it's patchy and light.  I think this winter's on a wind-up.  Already thinking of spring.

Snowing nicely here now. The finger of more decent precipitation is moving in from the south.

Probably the last wintry weather we see till end of Feb or March (if we see it again at all)

Very fine light sleety dandruff coming down, it is so light the radar image is not picking it out. Its cold and raw current temp 1.9 degrees. Fells may see a light cover should a more organised band of precipitation form, which looks quite probable this afternoon.

Next few days until Friday will be slightly below average, patchy frosts, drizzly cold rainy murk possible,  troublesome fog, hopefully much more in the way of sunshine compared to the last 7 days - not a particularly inspiring outlook.

It's still snow here but hardly the stuff that ice ages are made of.

still it's better than day after day of foggy mild muck.

It stopped completely here and the radar is showing the whole thing to be fizzling out.

See you all in a few weeks

All our hopes seem pinned on a SSW. Let's hope the PV is obliterated soon an we can enjoy bitterly cold easterly winds bringing heavy powder snow like Feb 1991 like many have mentioned in the mod thread. We can dream, but we are overdue a proper beast which affects the whole country. Feb 91 was amazing, even here we managed 6-8 inches of lovely dry powder snow!

Digusting low cloud with mist again in 3C. Cannot wait for some frontal systems from the Atlantic, at least it will be sunny between them. Also, 1-5 C is a "totally useless" temperature range. Uncomfortably cold yet too warm for anything wintry here. One benefit: my mediterranean plants don't suffer frost damage. This about sums up Winter 2016/17.

Yes, if it's going to be dull/wet/damp, let it be 11-15° as 1-5° useless, even snow will thaw with that

Well after the excitement of a couple of hours of the lightest snow you'll ever see we're back to the usual bore fest of damp, misty crap.

if this is the best that winter can offer then please sod off and allow some decent conditions in.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
