Fairfield Road in Buxton currently blocked due to ice and lorries unable to make the gradient up-hill past the Golf Course, going to be rough out there.

Parts of the midlands reporting snow now from this band I think.

Interesting... it means the rain is a direct consequence of the wind direction and necessarily a traditional mild sector

Must be the Irish Sea...DP up to 0.3 now

I don't know where you are in Manchester but I'm on route from withington to Stockport station and it has been settling snow all the way! Getting quite bad now!

Between Eccles and Altringham

Many times Stockport, N and E Manchester has snow when we have rain.

Best I have done is a period of sleet/wet snow. Now turning back to rain.

Actually still have slush on cars from the 10 min snow shower in the evening.

The sky has that glowing tell tale snow look about it though so I bet the snow line isn't that much further up!

Even Halkyn, 300m asl on the other side of the river has rain so  there no chance for coastal areas

About 50 meters judging by posts in here. Amazing it can turn to rain in that short distance when 2m temps are around freezing.

Warm sectors are so cruel.

Snow all the way! How long is this going to last?

For you maybe another 40 mins. Nearly at the edge of the band here now

Bear a thought for the runners in the SPINE Race over the next week, starting Saturday they'll have to be jogging almost non-stop from Edale to Kirk Yetholm in all kinds of conditions including on-top of today's snowfall. The 'toughest race in Britain' is living up to it's name before it's even begun.

Greater Man is a very weird place for snow!

I would be very surprise if Chorley got more snow than here. It is further up in altitude.

I'm gonna go there soon too.

Grim morning all or should I say some!

Well apart from a 30 min snow shower 6.30pm lastnight, the 4 year wait goes on. Typical how the band stretches the whole region yet the usual spots are suffering more heartache. Real bad horrible unlucky stretch without any lying snow for more than a hour this. Truly terrible, the days of getting at least one proper snowfall a year have gone:sorry:

A 30 second  shower in my case. Maybe tonight will work out better.
