Most of the precip coming into our region is green (sleet) on the radar.

Just looked outside must have been a few snow showers....1-2cm..... iced over where was damp earlier too.... lovely jubbley....

Looks like we'll finally get a heavy shower soon. Although it's white outside it's just graupel

i heard what I thought was thunder but couldn't be bothered to get up and look.

TBH the showers on the radar seemed slightly to the west of here with us right on the edge so I had lost interest in lamp post watching but maybe things are looking up with a few surprises in the morning.

Remember when i said id take 1cm a couple of days back? i would take a 5 minute moderate snow shower right now

To be fair the GFS had it pretty much spot on, EURO4 was more favourable as you say. 

GFS had predicted the much milder dewpoints (above freezing) which we had this morning. In fact it got the transition to colder air at 3pm pretty much correct. 

As for right now, we have a light dusting in South Manchester, and the radar looks promising for a wee bit more. 

I can assure you when you say "we" you don't mean "us" unfortunately.

Does look a bit more hopeful on radar though

Where abouts in Manchester are you? Withington here. 

I think we'll have another shower within the next half an hour judging by the radar.

Been snowing on and off here for around 2 hrs. We now have a decent covering on the roads grass etc. Looks like there's more on the way as well.

I love it here in gee x. Runcorn lad originally, but it's great being right next to werneth low for my dogs & I've fell lucky with snow past 2 winters.

Mmm we're just getting mostly light sleety wet snowflakes, occasionally large flakes, but nothing sticking. Need something a bit heavier to produce a cover. I hope to wake up to a slight cover come morning, but won't be too surprised to see just an icy veneer.. fingers crossed. Should get a snow fix on the fells on Saturday though.
