Pretty intense snow shower inbound for yours truly...vivid red colour on radar (20mm per hour - if it was rain)

As to the matter of Diane Oxley, she got hit in the face by a snowball once...hence her dislike of the white stuff.

Looking at the Radar and seeing that one shower head south East north of Blackburn is frustrating as it's gonna miss me to the north....

God awful mate. What an absolute shocker of a day.

That might just graze by but it won't have much legs on it anyway by the time it get's here.  There's a few bits and bobs waiting behind that, and a cheshire gap streamer seems evident for ppl living in those areas.

Nope, were living off scraps from nireland sw scotland and like you say there isnt much legs in them by the time they dodge here,we need some sort of streamer around blackpool, it aint gona happen, we're screwed.

If its not rain shadows from a SE wind its the south getting snow from a north westerly.

We are in a baaàaaaad spot here altitude or not.

Looks like it's all heading our way!  Could link in with the increased CAPE around midnight too?

I hope it beefs up

Radar shows one or two more organised precipitation bands upstream-Little troughs in an unstable North Westerly flow I guess. Hard to estimate the track though. Looks like a bit of an Irish sea/Mersey streamer developing.

To make matters worse Spain looks like getting some Siberian cold.

I'm agonisingly just north of that Mersey streamer. It needs to beef up and widen. I've had nothing here for a while now, though there's still some graupel lying.

Very tricky to forecast and predict how PPN will travel as of course, the shape, size intensity of such showers will always alter and you can have showers popping up unexpectedly, does seem like the closer to the coast you are the better and the further south and west in the region you happen to be is the best chance of seeing convective showers.

The Greek Islands and Costa Del Sol could end up having a more impressive winter than British 'mild, dull & wet' Isles.
