That southern frontal mess buggered a lot up for the majority of us...I knew as soon as it started appearing in the output it would cause issues. A lot of you guys around Greater Manchester/Lancashire etc would have seen thundersnow already today had it not been for that front.

I was wondering about the 'strength' of the showers would come from. Could you possibly show me the chart that shows this? Just so I can learn for next time. :)

I was just going off the values on this which show a great deal of CAPE overnight.

Guess what it does now before the skies clear? It's snowing!! :wallbash:

Just for a moment then it's stopped!!

Yes, we had those few flakes too!  I can see some blue sky now.  This is really disappointing but fingers crossed for later tonight :cold:

GFS really beefs up that front moving down tonight BUT looks very very marginal for low ground as slightly milder uppers and dew points are associated with it. Dew points knife edge around the 0/1C mark.

Good spot mate think those with a bit of altitude will get a few cm outa that.Gfs has temps below zero all night so its a good thing its dropping through the night, hoping for a result after todays drizzle fest..

Guess that will be rain for us if that transpires?

JUst watched the BBC weather - seems to show showers around 9-10pm. Then nothing all night. The frontal snow expected to move down the east coast only. Another change!

Probably wintry showers rather than proper snow.
