Oxberry disgraceful mild bias, wish she would sod off our screens, get Chris Fawkes (from Stockport) on BBC NW, a proper coldie. If I ever bump into Ms mild Oxberry I will give her a piece of my mind and let her know exactly what I think of her biased forecasting

The Scots already having their usual 'dumping' of snow, while everyone else feeds of the scraps. They never seem to have any issues with marginals up there lol... The Highlands must be experiencing blizzards/whiteout conditions.

And if the SE gets its 1cm of snow, Scotland's blizzards will be lucky to even get a passing mention.

It'll be the heaviest snow they've seen since '63

No organised precipitation was being forecast back then, so it would have been -10 uppers with clear skies.

Clear skies do not dictate the upper air temperature. They dictate the temperature at 2M surface level, along with other variables

First rain shower here but if the colder conditions can set in overnight i'm optimistic for at least seeing something wintry falling.  The showers are easily getting blown inland by the strong westerly/north westerly winds.

Low pressure systems do dictate upper air pressure though. The reason we are seeing higher upper temps is because 2 small low pressure systems and their associated warm sectors will be affecting the UK on Thursday and Friday respectively. If the low pressure systems were not there, as the predictions 3 or 4 days ago were showing, we would have cooler uppers.
