BBC forecast for Thursday shows more of a westerly element to the wind which should help showers push further inland.

however the spread of showers looks less than inspiring.

hopefully upgrades will occur.

Don't worry it's changed again.

flow is back to more of a northwesterly with showers now showing down the east as well as west coasts.

however non of it matters as the BBC are more concerned with a weather system which may clip the south coast and may be contain some sleet or snow across its northern edge.

never mind, let's keep our impending smowmagedon under the radar.

Wow! You can't get a much better text forecast there from the Met. Mention of snow as early as tomorrow afternoon on the coast. The way it's going there could be a snow event on Saturday as well.

No mention of the dreaded wintry showers, a word I hate, which suggests no marginality.

Yes, it does look better, but today they have no problems reaching me, when conditions are not right for snow it always hits

also Sunday is looking very wet

I'd take this kind of outlook from the met all day long. Also would much rather have snow 'possibly' turning turn rain than rain possibly turning to snow. :good:

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Windy with local gales on Thursday and widespread snow showers. Wintry showers more isolated on Friday. Less windy with snow possibly turning to rain on Saturday.

Latest update is much better. (and again I understand the limitations of the Automatic Forecasts)

Agreed, and  if the current trend continues in the models; potential for it to end up being all snow.

Last one from me before sh##ty work.

I just hope we dnt end up in no mans land on Thurs with that low trying to push up from the SW but not quite getting here thus spoiling the shower activity and we end up with dull, cold, grey cloud.

I await todays update from the met with interest!

BBC still very reluctant to pin detail on the potential wintry shower activity late wed into Thurs.

Yes, they are showing it almost completely dry for this neck of the woods. Definatly a fast moving situation though.

Just seen this in model thread, shows rain for west coast, is it going to be the usual washout here?

Watch out Lake District!

Mountain forecast for Saturday:

"Remaining bitterly cold with gale or severe gale northerly winds over the summits coupled with snow showers. Sub zero temperatures at all levels even during the daytime. Potential for severe white-out conditions over the high ground."
