Cancelled golf this morning as the rain arrived just at the wrong time.:-(

Now feeling more humid although only 12c currently.Still cloudy and expecting some downpours this afternoon with NW radar showing quite an area of activity around the Wilts./Oxford locale which looks like heading north.

The ground is still bone dry here. 1.6 mm of rain this morning promptly evaporated in 0.14 hrs of sunshine this afternoon. The showers which followed were barely enough to dampen the paving.

Potentially a third consecutive sunless day today here which, if it occurs, will be the first 3 day sunless spell since mid  January.

A strange few days of weather.

Went cooler today,a thick sheet of altostratus and some big bubbly cumulus.

Then a thunderstorm to the SE,frequent thunder to start, multi forked lightning.

Looks like the front isn't going to produce much rain or thunder here, it's a bit fragmented.

Shame is didn't hit this afternoon, it would have been spectacular, I hope north has better luck.

A very brief moderate shower in the last few minutes but it doesn't look as if this rain band will produce very much here. It now all depends on whether or not we're too far south for this afternoon's thunderstorms.

No rain at all here, the radar is not showing any closer than Ireland and E Anglia. So cloud, if you're not going to give rain or storms, no point hanging around across the Midlands! Go back to the sea....

Storms beginning to develop over and to the south of Stoke. We have rumbles of thunder and drops of rain.
