Dear Snow, Why are you just going to Staffordshire? All they have over there is oatcakes and speed cameras. Much nicer here, why haven't we seen you for 4 years? Remember December 2010? We had so

Phew, made it......

Couple of videos from my drive into the Peaks today when I had to turn round as conditions got worse. No doubt in something better I could have gone on but in a Citroen C2, I have to be careful as the

It's sub-528 for all of the Midlands. The East coast may see rain though.

And also dew points maybe favourable. The Euro4 shows snow, could be a surprise for some :cold:

Normally waiting for something to happen that's interesting in the 18z output, it's way out in FI and late, most of the time i can't be bothered.

But isn't it great for the first time in i really don't know how long......it's t12 to t18 :yahoo:

It is a mild sector, you can see on the chart, this screams 'wintry mix' for low levels, Willinkent and high up members should be okay

My expectations are low though I'm not without hope. But one thing to bear in mind is that here always seems to be a nowcast region. I therefore don't take precip charts even at short range too seriously as the outcome is usually slightly different to those. The band could therefore end up slightly further north, south, east or west to what they show. This leaves room for surprise anywhere really. We'll see soon enough though. Good luck everyone :good:.

Although I still want it to happen, tomorrow Friday and Saturday I'm on some awful shifts at work, as I won't finish until 9pm tomorrow, 6pm Friday and 8:30pm Saturday. So even if we do get anything I won't really have any chance to enjoy it. I'm not off again until Sunday so it's just my luck that it'll be milder and raining then. At least it looks like getting colder again next week, with the models showing further promise down the line. Plus I'm off work for the week commencing the 23rd so I hope it'll be nice and wintry then with hopefully snow. A long way off yet though in the world of weather.

We will all be glued to the skies tomorrow and into the early hours. Who knows what will happen. The balmy met office app has me down for seven hours of heavy snow. Mmm as long as I see a few flakes I'm happy

Just one thing to mention before i go and retire, out of the 20 en's GEFS members, 14 of them have the snow pretty much across the Midlands for pm tomorrow.

As the BBC weather said "this rain to snow event even at this stage is being very elusive".....Just food for thought....if the professionals are have problems,,,,,WHO KNOWS :D

Yes, if you look at the Hi-res charts you'll see a disturbance there running into NW England, probably pushing down into the Midlands. I think that is why the Metoffice has me down for heavy snow for a few hours tomorrow evening.

18z euro 4 looks good still for 10-15cm for peak district over next 36hrs.....

Just seen it a good run for the more mid to north midlands. Looks like a streamer from early Friday then a band of heavy precipitation after. Interesting

I think we are going to be unlucky this time around the front tomorrow looks to far south but south Midlands looks a sweet spot to me, although still some uncertainty. And Friday the main band of PPN is mainly along the east coast now with us maybe getting a flurry or two. But like I said there's still loads of uncertainty even at this close range so still time for upgrades.

Good luck to all Midlanders cmon Chesire gap work your magic. :cold:
