parts of our region in the warning zone.  Still to early to predict how much.  a few sites state about 3 inches here for Friday.  but could quite easily be none.   Troughes fronts etc could pop up anywhere though

I’d take 18-20inches by Wednesday... all in jest as precip charts are not extremely reliable but would be nice....

45-50cm....

Looks nailed on to me ?

Seriously though, nice to see Stoke in the Met Office warning zones. Definitely appears to reflect the risk of a Cheshire Gap streamer.

I think this Netweather automated forecadt uses the latest GFS data?

All to play for with the slider lows. It will take a few days for that to be resolved. MO updated forecasts for next week mentions this, with central and northern areas most likely to see snow.

Nearly Time for the 12z   Lets see if this chesire streamer  can get going again.  and also that all important Sliding Low.  which  historically gives us a right old dumping.

Evidence of a decent Cheshire streamer Thursday/Friday! Can't say the GFS simulates the most reliable/accurate shower clusters, but we'll see!

Ps. new to this thread! :yahoo:

for most of us then, told a few people today too, I'm that confident, 2 day cold shot, a few snow flurries likely, Fri/Sat, and milder again on Sunday

So your sure of the slider lows position Sunday?  Please let the met know. Way too much knee jerk reaction. Sunday and after won't be settled till Friday

Even if Sunday's low is a rainfest for the Midlands, it should continue to be on the cold side.

I'd rather it was 13 degrees

I think mild, humid, wet, dreary, dull winter weather is vile, but we all have our own preferences.

Everyone come up to Glossop/Peak District/Buxton Sunday and go Xmas shopping/country walk in the snow ❄️❄️☃️ I’m doing a roast if anyone’s interested... ?now I’ve said that it’ll probably rain here too hehe ?

Never in the world, won't rain there, 30cms+, you'll still have it at Xmas, or most of it

there was nothing in the national bbc forecast to suggest that anywhere in the Midlands would have snow on thursday or friday.

Now, either they know something we don't, or they are failing to do their jobs
