Had some sleet some hail and a very quick snow shower here around 5pm.... if i had not been looking out the window at that exact time i would never have known... i think some of us will be in for a nice little treat come Wednesday morning... its going to be a long few months with many a twist and turn....but im sure we will all get at least one good dumping before March is out..... on the other hand i have told the wife if we dont get snowed in this winter we are heading to Scotland... to move up the side of a mountain....Wanlockhead seems to be the best bet...they have an ice day there on Tuesday.... no need to worry about warm sectors or being marginal....

Oh no..and so it begins!

I must not get involved.

Must learn the lessons of the past 3 years.

I must not look...

...well, one little look...

...it's only to see what the weather will be doing right?

Oh look!

A snow symbol!

Too late...here we go then...buckle up.

Ah, it's just like old times isn't it? Seeing lots of amazing snow charts for the Peak District part of our region, and feeling outright jealousy..........

The very north of our region maybe, but I still remember Oct 2008 the same was said, "Only sleet and snow for the higher parts of our region" and things changed during the day....but then again it was a different set up....but you never say never :hi:

being realistic, but probably my christmas pudding biased thoughts, and my believing of snow only on hills, but I think only snow in this region will be on Peaks, Flash, and 200m+, slushy mess, 300m+ proper snow

Flash 425m, powdery snow 20cms

yes, and I don't even like christmas pudding, also think the hilly members will have a slow thaw during Wednesday evening, as less cold air moves in from the Atlantic, not exactly a great event us low down members are missing out on, as here air would be even milder when the Atlantic breaks through

Wish it was covering the West Midlands as well, though there is a snow symbol for this region but that's probably because that yellow area just about clips the far north east of the West Midlands region. It's not beyond possible though I suppose (though chances are probably slim) that it could spread further west than that forecast indicates. Either way it's good to see snow forecast so far south at close range this early in the season. Even if I get nothing here this time, this coming Winter is already showing signs that it will be a colder one than the last 3 (hopefully). So there is at least hope for now, further down the line, that I could get some decent snow at some point.
