ECM snow accumulation by next Sunday.

Strange that the Cheshire Gap area has only small snowfall amounts. ECM musn't be seeing the streamer. Yet it still has 5-6 inches of snow here.

In forecasting snowfall we all know how hard it can be but Ive just seen the BBC Weather for the week head and doesn't show much in precipitation come Friday ???

It is, yeah. Will be a while before that's resolved though. A half way house between the ECM and the GFS would be perfect :D

Hopefully they're just doing their usual of playing their cards close to their chest until a day or so out. This looks well setup for streamers and disturbances in the flow.

Yes, we need a halfway house, JMA shows better setup

And don't we all know that, can't blame them really in doing a Daily Mail 4 to 5 days out and saying -10 and a foot of snow is on the way and then just flurry's at best, they would be slated

Would be nice though :santa-emoji:

I think I've made a mistake. That chart shows snow amounts after the slider low. The ECM showing snow north of the M4 corridor, despite uppers not being great. That plus the Cheshire Gap streamer on the GFS would be nice. Not that I'm greedy, of course :)

Slider lows are so unpredictable they are a forecasters nightmare, the times 12hrs out we've been given the green light to go and get the sledge out of the shed and now't, interesting times head methinks.

If I was still living in London, I'd be wondering whether I might see a frost.

Instead I'm wondering about Cheshire Gap streamers and slider lows. How refreshing!

There’s been a few of them already here. Watch we get the worst snow in years while you get sod all :D no Thames Streamer/channel low up north.

I’d rather be in your location later next week looks great..

Same here (How refreshing!) To discuss with someone that has an understanding.....We can have some good dumpings up here and you go a little further south and nothing or just rain.....so can have a laugh when comes to bragging rights :p

A proper full on nw wind is what we want for streamers otherwise they just end up further north around Stockport etc. I remember a few years ago when a good streamer set up and we got battered here, I drove to Redditch which is about 15 mile further east and there was nothing plus we are high up here and Redditch is low ground

Still think you will do well as long as the wind is right. I lived in Redditch all my life until about 10 years ago and it was that crap there it was unreal hence why I bought a house by the lickey hills

Not entirely sure what direction is best for Stoke. Just seem to get showers whenever the wind is from a north westerly quarter. Whether it has to be strictly NW, I'm not sure. Not lived here very long.

Should do yeah, need NW'ly, but Cannock and areas around there are higher, and going north towards North of Stone, into Stoke

Think stoke is better full stop as it’s further north, for us down here wind is crucial

Will, ya going to get bleedin' pasted, 2 feet maybe?

Maybe Maybe not... all depends on wind direction for showers...if showers can band together into troughs wind direction will be less important... should be cold enough... if you get the cold in place first then the fun and games can happen and sometime only appear through nowcasting... good luck one and all for an early Christmas present....
