If only the wind direction was more of a direct North-Westerly, can see most of the dark snow clouds pass by here to the North-East ?

Nice to see some of you wake up to some snow!

Maybe one or two of the showers may thump the snow shield here at some point, but probably just fall as rain, hail or sleet!

Didn't expect to see that much up there. Tempting being a Saturday to head up but the main road is closed due to stuck lorries.

Yes, sadly roads are blocked otherwise I would be taking a trip up the hills myself!

Further snow opportunities next week? GFS seems to think so. Most of snow looks to head into Wales but finer detail can change at very short range.

Love the Cheshire Gap streamer, as a snow started ex-Londoner :D

Blue skies for me! ?

Blue skies here too.. Sun shining brightly here.

However when I woke up (10 mins ago, I am a cricket fan!) I saw the amazing sight of about a dozen properly formed snow flakes floating down.

I did not believe it.. so I went out to my bin (sheltered from the sun) and one  was still there!!!

I now see that a lot of places have reported snow falling overnight.

Was not expecting this really, although I posted that A252 might get a few flakes!!!

 Min o/v -2.3C.   Current temp 1.8C

Perfect Cheshire gap streamer set up.

If we can keep it through the night, we might get more surprises?

I need a 4x4 for these occasions. Surprised they are still closed, they are usually very quick to plough. Cat and Fiddle webcam looks very bleak,.

2.1 with a dew point of -0.6. Sunshine after a heavy snow shower.

A cold week next week. Met Office has a high of 6 on Monday and the max after that is 3, with night time minima below freezing. Frosts and perhaps some further snow. Brr!

Temps 2.6'c here now dewpoint  0.2'c , the precipitation just missing us to the north, but it should swing further to the south as the night goes on, fingers crossed!

Ar drat! I either had been asleep, or didn’t look out of the window when that happened (assuming it snowed slightly in this part of Solihull too ?)

DRG

The cloud was just to our East. (just a thin wisp), but it was clear above.

I am in Solihull Shirley area. So it depends ( I think) if you are north of me (or not)?

It was about 9:20 when I awoke (are you a cricket fan also?), and I was so shocked that I thought that a pigeon must have been attacked by a sparrow hawk initially!

I saw it in my garden about a month ago and feathers were flying everywhere!

Anyway lets hope it was but the forerunner.

Absolutely pouring with snow. Large flakes. If it was a month later, we would have a good few inches laying by now.

Yes, was thinking that, time of year is a bit early, been sleety wet snow on and off, but now anything else, I expect to get rainier as heat of the day builds up,

good to have seen some snow though

The Cheshire gap looks to be working its charm further north.

Did have 1 respectable snow shower when I first went out the door which nice, looks mostly dry now.

Gone more windy since.
