Frontal rain hits here no problem, but snow and thunderstorms do miss, snow is elevation, storms we're too far west

Summers have been generally wetter since the 2007 debacle, less dry months and more wetter months. July 2017 was yet another 100mm+ summer month and the 5th July out of last 11 to be 100+mm. From 1969 to 2006, there was only 1 such July.

It could flip back to a drier phase of summers.

Plenty of beefy showers around this area today pretty much as forecasted.

Thumder heard now as another one approaches

Now we have torrential rain hail along with thunder and lightening.

wow!!! there was a strike in Bedworth town centre, never seen lightning that close, sirens and alarms going off. I hope no-one was hurt?!!

Heavy rain shower, distant thunder, my location on the radar is literally on the edge of the thundershower. A bit underwhelming could have been better, not seeming many showers in the waiting after this one passes.

A chilly morning here with a low of 8.5c, some thin cloud this morning with hardly any wind and long sunny spells.

Yep cool here, I recorded 9.4C min, now around 16.5C..

I am within the built up Bham conurbation and was not expecting it to fall quite so low.

It must have got down quite low in the more rural parts.

We seem to have missed the overnight rain.

Looks at though it weakened just north of here, and it will re-invigorate this evening over the South Midlands..

Tomorrow/ Wed it looks as if it could return from the East.

Not much interest in the forecast to be honest, even in the long-term it's not looking great. I'm not surprised this forum has been so quiet. On a positive note the weekend looks okay, but only to be followed by another week of summer misery. I think autumn probably has more of a chance at delivering summer weather than this summer does at the moment.

Tomorrow is a Northwest-Southeast split to start with.

After a wet morning for most areas, it will turn drier and brighter for all parts through the day with spells of sunshine developing. Staying breezy and rather cool
