Was just up Beacon Hill in Sedgley with the dog. Incredible how quick the towers went up to the north. Then it became gloomy here so couldn't see them anymore which is a shame because it looked like they were going to be quite a sight.

Strong and refreshing breeze has picked up here...and very overcast now too.

Not enough rain to dampen the paths here although it has turned much cooler this afternoon. The most notable feature of today's weather was the wind which was gusting into the high 30s mph from mid morning onward, and just over 40 mph on a couple of occasions.

Showery rain very early on,no thunder as the rain was that patchy nothing heavy, moderate though.

Then it cleared up from the south first thing got really warm and humid then the wind picked up got much cooler and duller low cloud from the south and later drizzle odd bits of rain and then as the layers of clothes were also coming back on.

Yep, today has been poor, we had a brief 5 minute shower this morning then it cleared up nicely for about an hour. Then the clouds started rolling in. No rain or no thunder. The SW got pondered and now the NE, there must be a huge shield around the area!

Hopefully the shield will collapse on Sunday night and into Monday!

Difficult to see how anything thundery could happen later. It's been solidly overcast since the storms developed over us yesterday. Not much sign of it brightening up so far.

Kind of a halfway house here. Lots of cloud but the sun breaking through now and again. Warmish but not humid. Feels fresh.

Very unlikely to get something here tonight. But forecasts and warnings have always suggested we'd be on the very very edge of any risk.

Much brighter here since about 1330 g.m.t. The morning's sheet of St, then Sc, has dispersed to leave about 6 or 7 oktas of Cirrus of varying thickness.

Yes, about an hour ago the low level stuff cleared and there's very hazy sunshine occasionally, quite warm too.

Latest thinking seems to be giving us an outside chance overnight, I'll take that as it's not a school night:D

Nothing more than a few light showers overnight here as everything went east a long way before it got this far north. Thick fog since 0430 g.m.t so, on glancing from the window, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was early November. The only hope of storms today is if any develop over the West Midlands during the day and move in this direction but it looks a forlorn hope at the moment.

Light ESE breeze here, thick cloud with drizzle, temp at 14.4c, storm shield remains strong, they seem to do a hop skip and a jump here, and by-pass the area completely.

The fog hasn't cleared at all today, athough it has thinned at times. This morning's drizzle gave way to moderate showers from mid afternoon without any signs of brightening up in between and the temperature has been between 11.2 and 12.5c throughout.

A very windy day here with moderate sometimes heavy rain which is now slowly clearing. The wind has downed a few branches on the back lanes and the bedding plants in the garden are damaged to with some gusts touching 52mph.

Edit- 29mm of rain.

A gust of 61 mph yesterday afternoon was the highest I've recorded here in June ( since 1983), beating 60 mph on the 2nd in 2015. The mean wind  speed however has been higher in several other years with 1997, 2007 and 2015 all having a mean speed exceeding gale force. A few sticks and branches were brought down, and the lanes are thick with green leaves, but other than that not much damage caused.
