But as is usually the way, the system is losing its bite and breaking as it approaches from the east.  Shame.

It is loosing intensity as its approaching us, but there looks to be quite abit also some slightly darker echo's on the radar (only some), and add on that the temperature are starting the fall as the sun is about to go down, we may get a dusting at least to some of us, IMO.

dusting at best overnight is the most we can expect.  Unfortunately a gap has appeared as it approaches my location. Typical.

I agree certainly overnight, and snow showers always have there own mind.

Snow shower over Belper currently, not settling though. Some decent sized flakes at first but now more like snow grains/graupel.

Just looking at the update on arome..... ill be keeping an eye on the radar and arome over the next few updates.... snow showers throughout the day have given temporary dustings with occasional moderate snizzle/snow grains.... stocked up on wood for log burner.... looking at the full update its going for 20-26cm by 7am sunday over the tops.... some nice sledding in peaks if that came off....

im in the 9-12cm area on the fully updated forecast..... exciting but taking it with pinch of salt atm.....

Yes Will, this is an elevation 'event'. Buxton to be cut off, 30cms, Flash etc, where Stafford absolute nothing, I have visions, (which I have seen before) seeing cars with snow on coming up/down A34, from Stoke area (north) or W Midlands (south) expect 5-10cms for W Midlands and Stoke, and obviously nothing here (Sat pm onwards) may see dusting before then

So far it has been a pathetic effort in Stoke. This video shows the heaviest snow thus far.

Edit. Video won't upload.

She knows I love snow and I want to see at least something on the ground this Winter. So we have decided to make the journey.

Can't help but notice the clear gaps over Stoke on those images :nonono:

long way off, Sunday is looking an absolute washout! but you have a bit of elevation, so maybe wet snow at times for you? assume you are around 180m asl?
