I want to be under the Cheshire Gap Streamer, it's not fair!!

(Just excuse me whilst I head off to have a tantrum a 2 year old would be proud of)

Nope, there's a shower factory to the northwest. It's not dying out.

Just pray the wind strengthens more to push the buggers further this way.

They are running from the river Mersey ,heading straight for Coventry

The showers are staying too far north near Stoke and hardly moving. Anything that does move just dies out. Really disappointing.

Just went to lock up and a few light flakes must have fallen in the last couple of hours. Barely a dusting.

Even the streamer over Stoke isn't all that impressive. There was a heavy graupel shower earlier which gave a good base but its too inconsistent to settle to any great depths aside from on the grass. It'll be slushy and mucky in the morning but doubt it'll be a winter wonderland!

A good, thick covering of snow in Longton. Been snowing heavily for hours.

Interesting day and the forecasts were very good. Shame we couldn't tap into any more showers.

However, this winter is still in the dog house as far as I'm concerned. It's going to have to try a lot lot harder if it's going to regain my respect for winter weather again. Still no better than the past 3 I'm afraid.

So, that's it folks, will see you when the next interesting thing happens. Be that tomorrow morning or the during the first rumbles of thunder in Spring.

My wife says the showers are heavy again now so perhaps I was a bit pre-mature in that. I'm down in Birmingham at work where there is zilch.

Oh it's absolutely pouring down. Big fluffy flakes. Everything covered. We get very brief lulls of a few minutes but otherwise it has been coming down thick and fast for hours. This is my first winter up here after moving up from London, and te first snow I've seen in years. God bless the Cheshire Gap :)

So far yes. Though still too early to say things won't improve. Still better than anything Winter 2013/14 had to offer, which isn't hard. I'm just hoping this dusting can still yet be topped up to something more substantial tonight and perhaps tomorrow. At least the models aren't showing mild and zonal dross for the foreseeable, so hopefully this Winter will make up for its rather boring start yet.

Yes! that TAP that's feeding them showers into the northwest looks to me to be running out....but the wind will change very soon and them over Liverpool may make it.

You'll soon get used to the snow then. I've seen snow every year since I moved to Stoke in 2007. And of course, if you fancy a drive into the Staffs Moorlands even in the small events you'll get a good dusting.

Is it me or does the same that is set to push south later further west over Scotland than the models are showing?

Matt stop hogging all the snow lol. It seems to be dying a death as it moves south.

It was forecast to move south over the Midlands? What has gone wrong?

Everything as usual. I do feel sorry for most.
