Sadly, I'm in that gap with nothing apparent upstream. Just the way it goes in these situations, there has to be losers. Never mind.

We have the dusting from earlier still on the ground. Very icy indeed out there.

Dear Snow,

Why are you just going to Staffordshire? All they have over there is oatcakes and speed cameras. Much nicer here, why haven't we seen you for 4 years? Remember December 2010? We had some good times then, you even made the river freeze.

Now stay off the M6. When you get to Wrexham, go either down the A483 and along the A5 or down the A525 and turn down the A49. There's a nice cold beer waiting for you when you get here.

Cheers

Snow-starved Shropshire

Yep, not a bad little shower for us over here. Was quite heavy for a time. Keeping an eye on the radar hoping for more showers later!

"North westerly streamers" as we call them, don't deliver anything east/southeast. They run out steam by the time they get to Stafford

Radar shows snow shower in Thornbury, Yate, Wotton Under edge area.

Some moisture can ride over the Brecons in Wales and make it across the estuary to England on a Nwesterly after all!

Just got in from work. Started as rain around midday then had a couple of light snow showers which didn't settle. However when I finished work it was snowing quite heavily, but is clearing up now with a few flakes still blowing about in the wind. Basically we've got a dusting on most surfaces. Hoping for more tonight but judging by the mood in here that doesn't look too likely. Dustings don't really cut it with me and we usually get at least one of those most Winters, but earlier on I was doubting even that would happen so better than sod all I suppose. You can't do a lot with it though can you. Even though I don't play in it or anything and just like it for aesthetic reasons it would be nice to have enough for that to be possible, been as it's nearly 4 years since there was enough for that. Let's just hope it's a taster of things to come.

Same here, no falling snow for about three years, let alone lying snow!

Met office has corby down for 2 hours of heavy snow tomorrow morning. Believe it when see it as today was showing heavy snow for 3 hours had rain.
