Evening all, OK Today.... EXPECTATIONS  were high for SNOW....But SLEET was me :nonono:

In these set ups it's a "fine line between whether it will rain or snow"  but what the hell... move on :)

For now... I'm in streamer radar watch....mode :db:

Was always going to be the way it went, cold air arriving after the front

BBC weather forecast is up for that, showing snow showers into the Midlands this evening right up to midnight.

But showing that band for tomorrow morning is more easterly now!!!

A vast area of showers to the northwest, heading for us in the Midlands, even a bit of rotation in the centre, we might be in luck later tonight and tomorrow :-)

It's determined not to do anything but rain here.

Surprising as I thought originally we were well placed for this sort of event, but it just hasn't happened for us at all. Might get something tomorrow morning but not holding my breath at this point.

Listening to the Midlands news, it seems we are not going to see much over night.

Think the GFS was accurate a few days in advance, cold air always arriving at 6pm, after the front, mild sector still being modeled tomorrow, rain/sleet I would think at low levels

my first post in a while, but given the synoptics there was no reason for me to do so.... unfortunately i'm not at home but if i were to bet id say that some areas of the wmids, especially staffs could do well tonight, potent Cheshire gap streamer setting up, wouldn't mind being in the NW or the region tonight, up in Leeds, nothing but a bit of sleet earlier. Enjoy all who get something

Get this app on your phone's!

It's called "Nw snow radar".

It'll give you a brilliant toll to use for snow
