Just now, The Wolf said:

Really need these showers to do something overnight as this current stuff is doing nothing.

yes this current band is fizzling out on its northern edge and moving away at the same time. Our hopes rest with Cheshire gap streamer, Id guess Staffordshire will be the best area tonight.

I think (hope!) my last post was wrong. Zooming in on the radar, we could actually see showers quite quickly after this area of snow clears. They're making landfall around Rhyl, which from experience is a good position to do so for us here in the West Midlands. Looks like winds are getting dragged around in our favour too.

Maybe not much of a lull after all?

Wow, reading back what I've just typed, I might get accused of being optimistic!

Better counter-act it with something.

Um...

...the last 3 winters were rubbish!

There..normality restored!

Yes Gord.  The showers are just exiting Wales but on current trajectory should reach the West Mids in 1-2 hours, lets hope they maintain intensity as they could give a covering!

Yh mate and even this system is moving much slower than expected the back edge is still in Manchester. And streamers are already showing themselves for later.

I'm surprised the streamers seem to be setting up so early  if we can catch the bullseye with some of these  a few could have a surprise

Not a great thing maybe, cold air just over us at 6pm, feel anything before 6pm rain (low levels)

Looking at the radar at the moment there looks to be a chance of some snow for Stoke, Stafford, Crewe, Market Drayton etc at around 5pm.
