10 minutes of moderate snow has just started to whiten the ground at 320 m but now it's stopped. A quick lool at the radarI suggests  there'll be another short spell of moderate snow later this afternoon before it clears away to the south so we could end up with a thin layer before dark.

Been snowing here for about an hour now. Very wet and not settling. Looks like it will clear soon then we have to wait for any showers. Good to see it falling I suppose. Baby steps towards a winter that might not disgrace itself.

Some tasty looking showers forming nr north wales already, If we see showers of that intensity through the night 1 or 2 could see upto 5cm covering by the morning perhaps.

Back to plain old rain here. No flakes at all. It's lighter (in intensity) but darker (in sky colour!)

I was just about to say the same thing..........bodes well for this region later on, methinks.

Snowing in Walsall now, also looking good around north Wales and around the Cheshire gap, with showers looking like they are forming.

Getting a bit of a slushy dusting on grass/cars now.

The angle of the wind isn't right for those showers/streamers yet...but hopefully it should be a bit later. Think we may have a bit of a nothing gap to get through first.
