And here in West Oxfordshire, not a drop of rain all night :(

Seriously?? It's been torrential all night. The front has stalled over us but is very slowly edging East. I pity those in the thick of it now.Didcot Parkway station is closed as is flooded,my village is cut off,our sewers have overflowed. Can't use the loo!! The emergency services have been amazing trying to minimise damage.Serious shout out to these guys who turned up in the most awful conditions to fight a losing battle against the elements

Had a few flashes and rumbles in the night in south London, but the bulk of the more active storms appear to have been to the west and NW of London over Hants, Berks, Surrey, east Oxon, Buckinghamshire.

At work near Heathrow now and there's some occasional flashes and rumbles from the edge of the storms just NW of London, appear to be edging this way.

A few flood warnings and watches across London area from the overnight storms

Well, wow!

Last night was like a storm off of the old days. Lots of big, powerful CGs (overhead too!!!), booming thunder and rain of biblical proportions.

I love the elevated stuff we usually get here in Bournemouth but that was a reminder of how much fun a monster surface-based storm can be!

One happy boy this morning!

Late to the party, but the rain here in LB is absolutely mental. Been biblical for about an hour now, trains on west coast main line at a stand. Not muc electrical stuff, although just had a flash now. Heaviest rain I've seen here in 12 years.

And again but they are not showing on any lightening radars

Nothing by way of a storm here. Rumbles to west and some steady rain. Nothing coloured Amber.

I don't think storms were ever really likely for the east. However rain would be good; at the moment there is a very VERY fine drizzle, more like fog really!

No storm here just drizzle with some heavier bursts at times, storms dying a death, so looks like just rain here if anything at all.

I think the trigger for all these storms was that we attained the optimum temperature for initiation: 18.5°

Seriously, I've done research and that is the magic number

A few work colleagues that live in Berkshire gloating about all night storms with constant lightning and thunder, and I get bugger all in Croydon last night, not happy.

Electrical activity seems to be easing now, just turning into a damp squib for many in the east. Though looks like a now storm developing ahead of thundery rain over E Cambs / W Suffolk now.
