Flashes to my south now must be that cell south of Durham. Good to see some of these are at least mildly electrified!

The cold front is clearly visible on radar now, its manifesting itself into a squall. Still quite far away from here, still getting the odd rumble. I have had an incredible day storm wise. Bed time now.

Rain has stopped and it actually does not feel any fresher.  Feels as humid as it did, if not more so.

After  quiet spell, lightning is back in Wycombe. The A40 between Wycombe and Beaconsfield is in a bad way with flooding and a small number of homes have lost power. We're only on the edge of the amber warning - but it is deffo needed. That front stretching the length of the country is stunning.

Around an hour ago the little storm here was on its own on the radar, but now a line has quickly developed all the way down the middle of the country

My only hope is that fingerof rain just passing liverpool, doubt it will be electrified though.

If it's what I just  had before then  there wasn't much to it. I'm still staying up though  until it feels fresher and I know it's game over completely.

Another few loud bangs of thunder here but hard to tell where it's even coming from at the moment??

Cells appear to be firing to the west of Stockton on Tees and moving north but there's some moving in from the west to east to i think looking at the radar??

What a night.. Gotta be the longest period of lightning and thunder I have ever experienced hours upon hours

Now it's proper raining

I can't even tell what's going on with the radar, thunder started here about 4pm but was gone by 6:30/7pm until it got dark and I could see constant flickering all night until 2:30am when we got hit and now after a lull of 30 mins thunder can be heard again!

Moved away now that should be it for the day. Cold front well remains off just coming into view on the radar.

Getting more lightning and thunder here although it's not being picking up on Lightningmaps.org The latest ones were around 3-4 miles away. Although I was woken out of the blue by the loudest cannon fire (it's the best word I can describe it as) thunder I've heard in a long time around 10 mins ago. Again, no detection.

EDIT: Ah, there we are. A couple of flashes in conjunction with some sferic detection.

Alright so not game over then.  Sounds like it's coming in  slower than expected.  Sorry don't know where the hell those  images came from.

To me it felt game over last night. Taking photos of the moon and it it felt cooler to me with a breeze.

If the cold front is that line of showery rain approaching Worcester stretching N to S that doesn't look exceptionally active if it's the one E of Coventry well that's different matter can someone clarify

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
