Well it's intensified on the southern edge approaching to the SW of Sheffield now and shifted slightly more east again.  It's got some juice this monster mind - they've usually died or fizzled out by now.  Let's see the pics !!

Will this hit West Yorkshire

Bradford area looks in the firing line and if it maintains its intensity / track then possibly (stress possible) Leeds or just to the west of Leeds?

What u talking about? It's practically on you!

Radar has to the south west and the flow is movement is north so will go up the west side of Sheffield. However it looks like we are brewing something for the north of Sheffield and Rotherham etc. Skies brightening to the south west now behind this narrow band of threatening cloud.

Parts of that storm around Whaley Bridge has breached the Netweather rainfall scale. Rates must be up towards an astonishing 300mm p/h. Some major problems there right now I assume.

Surely it's not too far to chase to? If you have the means, that is.

I think that's what's continually frustrated my this summer and last is that all the big storms have been a ball-ache of a journey to reach.

You see when you actually zoom right in on this storm it's actually quite spread out and patchy

I'd say looking at that it's a decent amount of lightning - does that record inter-cloud lightning too or only cloud to ground etc?

What scale are you using? I see it around 100mm/hr

Here's a weird one. A massive amount of low level cloud is coming over NE to SW, while the storm is tracking north. What's the reason for that?

what the he'll is going on, UK live lightning goes down with that storm next to Derby looking like tracking up the pennines, 20 mins later and it's now tracking north east towards Sheffield! you couldn't make this up! could this storm be super cellular as they have a habit of just turning east?

What makes it weird is it's all coming out of the storm.

Constant thunder to the west and northwest. The band that went over should produce for the north of Sheffield and Rotherham. Peak district should have had one hell of a storm. Moved away now biggest feature the wind producing a 36 mph gust. Just 0.4mm of rain. Clearing here now and just caught the edge of it.
