well, certainly an entertaining drive down the M5 home......lots of lightning, torrential rain/hail..........and looking at the radar, it's filling in nicely to my south....

Wow a  positive CG  1 mile away. Very mature storms tend  to do that. Get in.

Rain has just arrived. Just the dregs from the storms further south. So I am not expecting much if anything now.

Yeah, it's just depressing the temperature here. Down to 21 from 24 an hour ago, but no rain, it's just gone overcast and a bit dark. Judging by the radar it will skirt Manchester to the west.

I wouldn't worry the storms are nothing special as of yet, once we start seeing 100+ strikes/min then I will be interested. Northwest england/west yorkshire/ south west scotland look prime areas for later.

When you hardly see a storm any bit of thunder and lightning is greatly welcomed :wallbash:

Not been one decent storm around here this year, intermittent thunder on that day in early June (day where that MP was murdered), odd claps in mid July (mostly went  over the Irish Sea) but nothing since.

The lightning in the north has all but fizzled! Seems to be doing the opposite of what was forecast at the moment.

Noticing some rapidly developing cumulus congesgus to my W and SW. Incredibly hot at 32 here now.

That is just an incredible map. Things like that shouldn't be possible.

Times like this I laugh, it's just overly ridiculous, will be excited to look at the lightning archive on Netweather later, for the mean time, if the sun peaks through hopefully we should see any avaliable energy build up!

Must be East Bristol that missed out as I was in the city centre earlier & we had a spell of T&L around noon there.

Yeah lol, I'd be laughing if I'd been at home that had it overhead. It was still quite decent here in Aztec West but it was clear the worst went either side.

There were rapid developments down south not long ago with a rash of showers bursting to live but they've since died a death again. Need the sun to get to work over the next few hours, or hope for something elevated that doesn't need that input.

I've also got one eye on Thursday which may produce something too. I actually thought Thursday looked better than today - if anything today was a nice surprise in this neck of the woods.

I was in SW Bristol and it's not that we had nothing, like I had Thunder, just the actual lightning tracks of the storms have left such a small gap I'm quite surprised. Still grateful nevertheless, I'm not one to moan!!

Look at that area where the last f is in Cardiff. A solid wall of sferics coming up from south then more sferics to the north of it but nothing where that last f is.

Yep west/central southern england has had quite a few good-un's this year :) had a fantastic storm off that eastern cell here today :)
And there was a pretty incredible one back on the 27 or 28th of august too (even remembering it getting special attention on the news aswell) seemed to take a similar track again to that one.
