Just had a rumble here. The previous shower before the one here now gave a rain rate of 155.6mm/hr.

Nice bolt of lightning followed by a loud crack of thunder. Very dark skies overhead.

Some good 9 or 10booms of thunder to the east of here.I was mowing the lawn and had to keep stopping every time I  heard a rumble just to make sure I wasn't imaginating  it.Seems to be slowly dying away now though as it drifts SE.Still threatening skies though but no rain as yet.

I had just arrived home about an hour ago to what I thought was thunder rumbling. Since then had a few rumbles (some quite loud) and weak flashes but nothing too exceptional. A nice little surprise though as didn't expect to see anything today. Most of the activity was just to my east though. Still counts as the first storm of the year over Derby itself.

Dry as bone here a little further north east from us at the moment but edging this way. I can see the cloud. Looks quite good.

Well the cell with lightning is of course passing to the south east of us. Got a light shower going through at the moment.

Just had one ic flash and a distant rumble here a few minutes ago. Its been showery all day, sometimes quite heavy, but I didn't expect any storm activity. As I write its just started absolutely bucketing down.

Day 2 Convective Outlook

VALID 06:00 UTC Mon 10 Oct 2016 - 05:59 UTC Tue 11 Oct 2016

ISSUED 15:11 UTC Sun 09 Oct 2016

ISSUED BY: Chris

A colder pool of air aloft will drift in from the east during Monday increasing surface to mid-level lapse rates and CAPE values to 150-200j/kg. This will allow for heavier/deeper showers across the southern North Sea. While shower depth will continue to be marginal for lightning, a few isolated strikes will be possible, particularly in Norfolk during the afternoon.
