@Joneseye, it was a bit intense! Lots of flooding in the town centre unfortunately.

@Allseasons-Si, yes i have footage taken with my dash cam. It's a gopro but I fear the footage won't be great as it's quality suffers when it's very dark.

If something is kicking off near Winchester then I'm on it!!

I love it when you post! you always make me keep abit of faith that i might see a storm!

Wish you the best mate. I saw the terrific tops of that NW London storm today, but couldn't chase it as the M25 was gridlocked, so called it a day around 5.30 ish. I was constantly checking my mirrors to see if the ultimate backstab of a storm forming back at home was going to happen haha. It has been the case before!

Thinking of parking up on the A303 near Stonehenge just incase something does happen later.

Lumpy (vertically shaped) clouds just passing the moon - impossible to make out the type by they are at least low-mid level clouds.

Those north London cells died as soon as they hit the Chilterns.

Meanwhile, though the Reading cell (TM) missed me and has moved on, it is very oppressive with the sky having an odd orange hue

Same here in East Oxford.

Wondering if that stuff about to exit Belgium will be a trigger, the one behind that first lot over there is going insane now by the way. Lucky so and so's

12z EURO4 representing the storm activity reasonably well thus far - just a shame it's not available earlier in the afternoon!

However, it is still, alongside it's 00z and 06z counterparts, producing a lot of rain over London, Surrey, NW Kent and parts of Essex at the end of the night into first thing tomorrow morning - and given it's persistence this should probably be taken more seriously now that there could be some notable impacts in these areas for the morning commute etc...

Further to my previous post, the Met Office are considering issuing an Amber warning for London and environs down to Hampshire for these reasons...

I would have thought about 3am, but my fear is that the storms will break out just east of us as the cold front passes, with north/east yorkshire, durham, Tynside doing quite well.

Don't be too put off by the lack of reflectivity on the radar, there's a lot of time to pass yet. It will be a late one for many.

Doom-mongerers (I accuse no one) can fox-trot right out of it. No model I've seen has noted any outbreaks of heavy rain/thunderstorms until around midnight and beyond (apart from the cells already witnessed this evening).

We have seen it so so so many times where people gamble their houses on no action too early only for the atmosphere to erupt.

There is of course no guarantee that it will - but we are at least 3 hours before anything ought to be expected to start kicking off anyway. Just thought I'd slip it in now in case anyone is planning on having a premature whinge :D

Ooooooh....MetO saying "thunder likely". Can't say I recall ever reading that before...best I've seen is isolated, scattered or chance of.

Yo Dan, surely worth a red on the CWUK forecast map?? :D:rofl::yahoo:

I'm getting a bit too excited now and posting a little too frequently - off for a shower to give everyone breath :fool::rofl:
