Incredibly quick that cell, fingers crossed for something, anything tonight please storm Gods!

Anyone notice the almost mini hurricane lookalike in the Biscay?!

From clear skies to rapidly forming cumulus over London now in next to no time... no doubt feeding the areas West of me for later alas.

Just a small but probably quite important point if you want timings for precipitation. The chart above is not for midnight tonight but rather the expected precipitation accumulation between 9pm and midnight tonight :)

Alex Deakin really ramping up the storms for later today into tonight!

That is a good point, I did realise that but didn't think/forgot to mention it in my post

Watched that cell for a while to my north, rapid development initially but seemed to suddenly stop once reaching a certain height as it moved out into the distance.

Fairly weak wind shear will mean that storms will struggle to last for long.

Well gang Weatherwise a very interesting time coming up ,frustrating ,not knowing where any meaty storms will appear .

Could be a rapid explosion later this evening , many of us will be glued to the Radar ,but what is wetting my appetite is [ hopefully] we have systems go during darkness hours ,Stellas at the ready and perhaps a sausage Bap ,Torch and Candles on stand by .Best of luck for all those who have been starved of storms so far , cheers .

Relatively fresh breeze has started here along with thr skies becoming a lot "milkier".

Don't envisage too much happening here despite some favourable model output/forecasts over the last 24hrs.

Guidance, IMO has shifted in favour of the SE quadrant of the UK.

Im not saying there is going to be one, im just wondering if you need a strong wind shear for an MCS?

I'm also unsure about today.. Euro4 less keen to break things out for the western risk area i.e Dorset until later into the evening/night now (this for Midnight):

though it does also seem to be showing lower temperatures than are already occurring.
I wouldn't mind some after dark lightning photo opportunities if I do venture into Dorset later though.

Then it seems keen on stuff for the SE

(no idea why those links won't embed as a picture like the top one)

Goodness if that first graphic verifies Essex is in for a pasting!  64mm of rain in 3 hours :-O

Euro4 has discrete, powerful cells across the SE quadrant overnight, before evolving into a yukky MCS mess by dawn.
