    That is magnificent. When he wrote that, GB were actually ahead of where they were in at the same point in 2012. I note that Jon Ralph didn't write the latest:

    The Brownlee brothers and Gordon Benson going for team GB.

    (Alistair Brownlee won gold in London 2012 and his bro Jonathan got the bronze there.)

    Ranked 22nd in the World, I believe, so that is some achievement.

    The Brownlees are machines. Anyone who's done any running will know how staggeringly difficult it is to go sub-35 for a 10K. Those guys go sub-30 after a massive swim and bike ride.

    You take out swimming and athletics, the USA have won only 10 golds so far in other events, GB would have 20 golds.

    You take out rowing and cycling, GB have won 13 golds in the other events.

    It shows how diverse team GB have now become in winning Olympic golds. USA gold winning strength is in swimming, athletics and also gymnastics by the way, their total is so high is because there are so many chances to win golds in those sports. You take out gymnastics as well then the USA have won only 6 golds so far! For team GB, it would be 11.
